Lockets developed out of talisman jewelry worn to ward of evil spirits. They came to signify: love, honor, a pledge of allegiance, a symbol of mourning, a commitment or a window to the past.
Lockets have been used to carry: powder, miniature portraits, ashes, herbal remedies, poison and perfume-soaked fabric.
Locket measures 1/2". Made of brass with a 14k gold plate, 20" chain with a link at 18".
Designed and assembled in our Sonoma, CA studio.
